The Edmark Reading Program, Level 1 helps improve students' reading skills by introducing and teaching 150 basic sight-words chosen from the Dolch Word List. Edmark 1 presents five types of lessons throughout the program: pre-reading, word recognition, direction cards, picture/phrase cards, and storybook. Students find success with this comprehensive approach that first teaches a word, introduces its meaning, and then expands the meaning by using the word in a story context. The clear and easy-to-follow individualized lessons make it ideal for preschool students, students with learning and developmental disabilities, ESL students, deaf and hard of hearing students, and any student who has not been successful in learning to read.
