You
may use the ASDS for the following purposes: to identify persons
who have Aspergers Syndrome, to document behavioral progress
as a consequence of special intervention programs, to target goals
for change and intervention on the students Individual Educational
Plan (IEP), and to measure Aspergers Syndrome in research
projects. There are 50 items on the ASDS that parents, professionals,
and/or others who have knowledge of the individual or the greatest
opportunity to observe him or her at home and school may complete.
There are five categories that provide the examiner with information
of clinical interest: Language, Social,
Maladaptive, Cognitive, and Sensorimotor.
