The Arizona Battery for Communication Disorders of Dementia is a standardized test battery for the comprehensive assessment and screening of dementia patients. It includes 14 subtests that evaluate linguistic expression, linguistic comprehension, verbal episodic memory, visuospatial construction, and mental status. Subtests can be given individually or collectively.
The results are useful for differential diagnoses, developing treatment goals and patient care plans, monitoring patient change over time, and discharge planning. The ABCD was standardized on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease patients and young and older non-disabled individuals. The manual contains information on validity and reliability.
