The WCAT provides a thorough diagnosis of articulation disorders and delays. Its results reveal the presence of articulation disorders, the type of misarticulation patterns present, and any specific features of a subject's articulation. The WCAT is a norm-referenced test for persons of all ages. Scores obtained include articulation scores, age-equivalent scores, intelligibility scores, and stimulability scores. The normative scores are based on the test performance of 4,000 children. Test-retest reliability is in the .90s. The WCAT is individually administered and can be completed in 20 minutes; results can be scored in 30 minutes. |
