The Goldman-Fristoe Test of Articulation-2 (GFTA-2) provides the information you need to assess a child's articulation ability by sampling both spontaneous and imitative sound production at the word and conversational level. It was developed using 39 consonant sounds and blends to identify articulation errors in the initial, medial, and final position of words. This edition has been standardized with new norms to match the current U.S. population. You may convert raw scores to age-based standard scores with separate gender normative tables for males and females. The newest edition offers 34 new picture plates with new artwork and new response forms that provide more room to write. You use only one picture plate when testing multiple stimulus words to reduce plate flipping and promote faster testing. Also, the examiner prompts are on the test easel.
