Let's chat the "WH" way! Now you can take Chipper Chat fun and help students learn to process and answer "WH" questions at the same time.
Each "WH" game centers around the use of individual game boards, magnetic chips, and a magnetic wand. Students place the chips on their boards as they answer "WH" questions (included with each game). When the boards are full—whoosh, the kids pick up the chips with a "magic" magnetic wand!
"WH" Chipper Chat includes ten different scenes. Each scene has a lesson plan with 100 "WH" questions (20 each of Who, What, When, Where, and Why). That's 1,000 questions in all! A handy "check off" form makes it easy to keep track of the questions you are asking.

Good Visuals!I got this since I wanted something a little more visual and would inspire the kiddos to increase their MLU. I like the whole package, except there really needs to be dividers between each board selections, like the original metal Chipper Chat. It's difficult finding which board to use, as well as the exterior flap that is hard to open.

no so great for the PRK populationI work with (mostly bilingual) pre-schoolers and WH questions are on ALL the IEPs. I thought this would be a great way to teach comprehension, and the magnets would be motivating. Unfortunatley, the kids I work with get distracted by the magnets and most importantly the questions are just too difficult for preschoolers. There is too much inferencing involved, even in the most simplest questions. I modify/simplfy 90% of the questions that this set comes with. Inevitably I stopped using this altogether. This set may best work with older children and probably not bilingual (im not sure if that has anything to do with it). For the price I paid, I am not satisfied with this product. I think it should either be modified to be more preschool appropriate OR NOT intended for that age group. I gave it three stars because I think it would be useful for older children to target auditory comprehension.

WH Chipper ChatWH Chipper Chat is a wonderful game for my children. The game has been helping them know the differences in the WH questions. It also helps them in visual discrimination and counting skills when they have to count the chips. I have recommended this game to some of my friends. I also bought the WH Bingo as a compendium to the WH Chipper Chat. I am very satisfied and happy with my products.

WH Chipper ChatMy SLI son and ASD son love this game so much that they are always exciting when we play the game. It has so many different ways of playing methods, and I can always make it fun for them to play. With the different levels of "WH" questions, my children are getting better at listening for clues and answering with full sentences. Therapy idea: I have an abundance...Therapy idea: I have an abundance of the magnetic chips and magnetic wands that are used every day in my sessions for articulation and language. I give out the chips for every production of sounds, words, words in sentences, rote language facts, responses, etc. and my students want more! That is because at the end of the session I take all of their chips and drop them on the therapy table. The student(s) then have to pick up all of one color with the magnetic wand without picking up any of the other colors. They then move on to another color and another until they have picked them all up. They take the chips off and put them in a "safe" bowl and try to see if they can get them all. recently my son had a...recently my son had a seizure and stroke and he had to start speech therapy and they use stuff from here and he loves it i have been looking around for some stuff that is a responsbile price so i can work at him with home and use the stuff they use at therapy and the stuff he like and knows. The Super Duper products that...The Super Duper products that we have that I enjoy the most at this time are the chipper chat and MagneTalk Early Classifying board. I love to use chipper chat in therapy with my artic and lang patients. They love the colorful boards, and I love that it gives them a visual of what they need to complete to gain there desired play item at the end of therapy. MagneTalk Early Classifying board is wonderful for vocabulary with my younger kids. Not only is it great for classifying, but the pictures make it wonderful to work on describing or naming items that have been described.

Love it!The magnetic wand and chips can be incorporated to target almost ANY goal. I like to use the chips as a reward for correct responses. When they get 10 chips they get the "magic" wand. This really keeps kids motivated! WH- questions are great as a well.

Wh chipper chatThis is a very useful resource to work on question formation and comprehension. The kids like using the wand to collect the tokens and there are a number of different scenes to choose from. I also like that there are multiples of each board making it great to use for barrier game type activities.

Adaptable for All LevelsI love this product! I use it for students in grades 4-8. I am able to have the students review "wh" questions as well as incorporate correct grammar when asnwering questions, summarize the picture, write a story based on the picture boards, and use inferences and predicting based on what they see. I also use this with students who have autism to discuss feelings and to practice asking questions based on what they see. In order to improve higher level thinkign skills with my older students, I use 'wh' questions with idioms. For instance, using the family question time board I could say, "Who is thinking this in the picture... 'This house is a pigsty, I better get to cleaning!' (answer: dad)" I can this discuss what "pigsty" means and have the students repeat my statement using their given definition of "pigsty" e.g. dirty, messy.. "This place is a mess!" This is such a great product, I wish there were more available for the older students (Middle and High)!

DisappointedI was hoping that the "WH" Chipper Chat game was more about formulating questions than answering them. There are a few pages that can be modified, but most of the suggested lessons are for answering questions.

Wh Chipper Chat in HS Autistic Support classroomFor the past four years, I have been using three different Chipper Chats in my high school Autistic Support classroom: Basic Concepts, Wh and Social Skills. All of my students are able to use at least one of the sets. All three Chipper Chats cover important and often challenging concepts for individuals on the AUtism spectrum. The wh is especially useful and used by most of my students. The chipper chats are so easy to use, I am able to allow volunteers to work independently with students using the Chipper Chats. My students remain actively engaged and do not tire of the games, thanks to the variety of game boards and the colored chips. Cleaning up the game using the magnetic wand is also reinforcing to my students. I highly recommend the wh chipper chat for any Autistic Support classroom that is focusing on asking and answering wh questions.

Wh Chipper ChatI have had this product for many years and just love it. I recently moved to a different school and I couldn't take it with me, so I knew I had to buy my own because I couldn't do therapy without it. The kids love the game and magic of the magnets! For younger students who have difficulty answering wh-questions without the pictures it is great. I also love how the questions are categorized so if I only need the "who" questions, I don't have to weed through all of them. I can also use the game/magnets with students who have other goals. I love to use the games during themed units with my Early Childhood students to build vocabulary. It is also good to use with a wipe off markers for following directions. See why I can't live without it?

The game format is fun and kids love getting to use the wands to pick up the game chips. I could not come up with that many WH questions, the game does all the work for you. A Speech tool with many functions!This is a product I simply cannot live without! As an SLP in a school mainly for autism, tools that very durable and grab their attention are essential. The students I see work hard to get all their chips in order to "clean up" with the magnet wand at the end. Not only do we use the picture scenes to work on answering "wh" questions, but we use it to work on creating sentences, as well as articulation. This is a product that should be a staple in the school system!

My students love playing the...My students love playing the Bingo games (Vocabulary, WH, etc.) and the Chipper Chat games. I sometimes combine the two, using the Chipper Chat tokens and wand with the Bingo games. They love it!

WH CHIPPER ChatThis product covers a wide range of topics and wh questions from basic require some reasoning skills - for the when and why questions. The pictures provide visual cues for the students for most of the questions. The students love using it. The only downside is that the questions are in a book and it would have been nice for them to be on small cards like the Artic Chipper Chat

Versatile ProductThe students love collecting the magnetic chips as well as using the wand to pick up chips. The picture scenes are engaging and am be used to target a variety of goals including grammar and vocabulary as well as the Wh question guides that come with the package. I love it's many uses, the ease of set up and clean up, and the motivation it gives kids to work.

I love the WH Question...I love the WH Question Chipper Chat. My kids get so excited about using the magic wand to clear their boards! This product is great for my language impaired students with very limited attention spans. They will spend much more time examining the pictures and acquiring chips than they will with other games and storybooks.

Really Good QuestionsI really like this game because it has so many different questions(who,what,when,where,why). There are many different questions for each 'Wh"question.This gives you many opportunities to practice answering and asking questions.

Great product!The Wh-chipper chat is wonderful because the picture scenes are interesting to a wide range of ages and keeps the children engaged. I also use it to work on sentence formulation, picture description, formulating questions, spatial and temporal concepts. It is multi-functional product and a great investment.

MultifacetedWhat I love about "WH-Chipper Chat" is that you can adapt it to use for almost any speech disorder that requires eliciting sentences as well as getting a good indication of comprehension abilities in a less formal manner than a standardised test. It surprises me how the kids enjoy the activites and want to keep going. Great product!

The questions ranging from simple to complex and abstract in nature target a variety of S/L objectives inc. articulation, grammar, syntax & receptive language. Not just for SLPs!I originally bought the "WH" chipper chat for my 4 year old son, who has autism. I really wanted to focus on increasing his sentence length and answering questions. I love that the questions vary from easy to hard. He has really been getting proficient with all "WH" answers. As a school-based OT, I am always looking for games that improve attention to task, visual scanning and overall socialization. I am able to "tweak" this game to meet a student's needs and still have fun!
