This assessment is quick and makes goal writing simple. The kids really respond well to the pictures and story. My teachers also like it because I can show them the basic concepts their student has/lacks. This is well worth the money!

I am a clinical student at an institution in SC, and in my assessment class I had to use a formal assessment on a 5k student in a resource class. This assessment was God sent because I am on my third clinical, almost to my wits end and this easy, yet high quality for lack of better words came along. I just love it!

Danielle enjoys having the ice cream cones to work with as a motivator. I like how the book takes concepts in steps, from the concept portrayed simply and then increasing the difficulty of the skill. It is helping me identify what concepts we still don't have conquered and need to work at.

Really nice assessment to use with the little ones. It is very natural to read a story and ask questions as you go. I enjoy the online reporting that I can share with parents.

I cherish my Webber Basic Concepts Program because I utilize the picture plates for more than just learning basic concepts. During co-treatment sessions with occupational therapists, the child can practice writing with the dry erase markers on the plates to circle concepts named. I've also used the plates as a reinforcer and for requesting "more."

My kids love this activity! They get twice as much practice with receptive activities...they identify which one to circle or color and then they have just as much fun identifying which one I want them to erase!

This product has been such a hit with our Speech Pathologists and Speech Language Assistants for it's motivational and successful use with the children that I am attempting to ensure that a kit is in each school and program. Any possibility for a Webber Basic Concept Program Kit 2 in the works?

The program is marginally helpful. The pictures are boring and the kids don't really learn from the limited amount of practice. I feel like I spent $60 for foam ice cream cones. If you don't have the assessment that comes with you really don't have a good starting point, meaning you need to spend extra money.

As with most super duper products, if you're using this kit for only basic concepts you are missing out on MANY other uses! The kids (and myself) find these high interest and colorful scenes to be very engaging, love that you can use markers right on the pictures, and the ice cream reinforcers are always a big hit. Great applications for language therapy as well as some articulation targeting w/ a few of the pictures!

This program has been a godsend for my caseload. It comes with so many different activities: reproducible sheets, a game to use with the language tasks, and the dry erase pictured scenes that kids LOVE. They reinforce the concepts so well - and can be combined with following directions and vocabulary development. This is my all time favorite product I have purchased, it's so practical and versatile.

I love the new hear builder following directions and phonological awareness CD. The areas align with state standards. The graphics are wonderful and my students loved the demo. My students love chipper chat series and Auditory Memory for Quick Stories. We order most test products through Super Duper as well.

I am thoroughly impressed with the Wiig Assessment of Basic Concepts as an assessment tool. The story book format allows for a more relaxed and familiar experience, which is perfect for testing younger children. I especially appreciate information in both the child's receptive and expressive use of concepts in one tool. Thank you for this invaluable measure!

I really enjoy the diagnostic assessments that Super Duper offers as well as the treatment tools. After working with the same diagnostic assessments for years, they have become {simply put }boring. I enjoy the bright colors, new pictures, and even the training you provide for your products. My clients love them too. Thanks for your creativity and FREE STUFF!; they make my job so much easier.

I used the WABC to informally assess basic concept knowledge in mentally retarded students. The majority of my population has Down Syndrome. None of my students were in the age range norms, I used it as a screening tool. The test was easy to administer and fairly quick. The students, even 16 year olds, took to the story book/picture format and were engaged for the most part. The summary on the back of the test protocol was a great tool for planning objectives. I like the way everything I needed came in one easy to carry tote bag. This test was worth the price and has made my job a bit easier! Janet B. Dallas, Tx.

My experience with the WABC has been most rewarding. I began using it to screen the PK4 students at my school. I really like the ease of usage, the short testing time and the students enjoy the materials. I used it for the pre and post-test examinations. Being able to identify the weakness and target those areas has been strategic in planning for these students. It allowed staff to program for the students who needed extra help and for those students ready for accelerated work.

The Wiig Assessment of Basic Concepts™ (WABC™) has just been published by Super Duper Publications®. There are two levels to this test, and the test provides receptive and expressive standard scores, percentile ranks, and age equivalents. There is also a Total WABC™ Score for each level. Semantic categories are included (color/shape, weight/volume, distances/speed/time, quantity, sensation/emotion, and evaluation).

Elisabeth Wiig has done a great job with this test, and it will provide diagnosticians with an alternative to the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts and this test will also prove helpful for Child Find and Head Start Programs. The two parts of this test are neatly organized into two books (Level 1 – A Day at the Zoo and Level 2 – A Day at the Park). The books are colorful and engaging, and clear pages for the Test Preparation, Test Scoring, and Test Training are provided. A separate section on the testing of superlatives is included. A clipboard and an Examiner’s Manual are included. The Examiner’s Manual includes the purpose and characteristics, directions for administration, scoring responses, interpreting the results, test development and technical characteristics. Norms for ages 2-6 to 5-11 and 5-0 to 7-11 are provided also. The Examiner’s Manual is neatly organized, well laid out, clear and concise.

I believe that Elisabeth Wiig and her colleagues have done a pristine job of standardizing and norming this test and it will be a very valuable asset to school psychologists and educational diagnosticians who evaluate children for various reasons. This test will help to ensure that “No Child is Left Behind.” It is imperative to have valid and reliable assessment instruments and the WABC™ will also be helpful to speech and language pathologists and other evaluators involved in early childhood education.

My favorite Super Duper product is the new Wiig Assessment of Basic Concepts ™ because the young students respond very well to the story format. It is so easy to give and score, and gives me a good indication of specific weaknesses.

I have found the new Wiig Assessment of Basic Concepts ™ useful in the preschool setting. The first thing I look for when a teacher tells me that the child is having trouble following directions, is to see if they have the knowledge of basic concepts. I have found in several cases, the students with difficulties in following directions, have difficulties with basic concepts. Problem Solved!
