Webber® Basic Concepts Instructional Activity Program
Webber Basic Concepts Instructional Activity Program provides a systematic way to teach the 54 basic concept pairs presented in the Wiig Assessment of Basic Concepts (WABC), receptively AND expressively.
First, teach the concept pair (hot/cold, up/down…) using the pictures provided in the reproducible activity book. Next, present pictures of the targeted concept pair with a foil (a third item that is similar, but incorrect). Finally, have the student identify three concept pairs on the game board while asking receptive and expressive questions from the activity book. As reinforcement, give each student an ice-cream cone and add scoops of ice cream for answering questions correctly. Reproduce extra game boards for classroom use or send home for extra practice.

-
Speech Language PathologistThe kit was good for most students but some of my lower functioning students had more difficulty using the game sheet.
-
good gameGood pictures, can be used in different settings. I also use the ice cream cones in different activities for motivation as a lot of kids get excited about them :)
-
Versitile and fun!The preschoolers love to make the ice cream cones. They also enjoy the dry erase markers and colorful pictures. They are learning and having fun at the same time. Win win!
-
Webber Basic Concepts ProgramDanielle enjoys having the ice cream cones to work with as a motivator. I like how the book takes concepts in steps, from the concept portrayed simply and then increasing the difficulty of the skill. It is helping me identify what concepts we still don't have conquered and need to work at.

Webber Basic ConceptsThis activity is a great therapeutic tool for targeting basic concepts, vocabulary, and following directions. My students love the interactive component that comes with the dry erase markers and ice cream cones! I would recommend this product to everyone!
-
I Love WebberI cherish my Webber Basic Concepts Program because I utilize the picture plates for more than just learning basic concepts. During co-treatment sessions with occupational therapists, the child can practice writing with the dry erase markers on the plates to circle concepts named. I've also used the plates as a reinforcer and for requesting "more."

I love the Fun DecksI love the Fun Decks, as well as the Webber Basic Concepts kit and Auditory Adventures kit! My students love them, too! I also loved the "Did You Know" information in your recent catalog. I cut them out, laminated them and put them on my door for parents and other staff to read! What great information! Thanks!!!
-
I love the basic concepts program! My kids love this activity! They get twice as much practice with receptive activities...they identify which one to circle or color and then they have just as much fun identifying which one I want them to erase!
-
Basic Concepts ProgramI love the variety this program has to offer. There are gameboards, reproducible picutres and reinforcers all built in to offer something for many ages and abilities. The program is easy to access, easy to follow, and use to address goals.
-
Webber® Basic Concepts ProgramThis product has been such a hit with our Speech Pathologists and Speech Language Assistants for it's motivational and successful use with the children that I am attempting to ensure that a kit is in each school and program. Any possibility for a Webber Basic Concept Program Kit 2 in the works?
-
Don't waste your money. The program is marginally helpful. The pictures are boring and the kids don't really learn from the limited amount of practice. I feel like I spent $60 for foam ice cream cones. If you don't have the assessment that comes with you really don't have a good starting point, meaning you need to spend extra money.
-
Very versatileAs with most super duper products, if you're using this kit for only basic concepts you are missing out on MANY other uses! The kids (and myself) find these high interest and colorful scenes to be very engaging, love that you can use markers right on the pictures, and the ice cream reinforcers are always a big hit. Great applications for language therapy as well as some articulation targeting w/ a few of the pictures!
-
Wonderful ProductI use this product with all the clients on my caseload ranging from global delays and autism to expressive langauge delays. I use the summary form in the back of the workbook to track the children's progress.
-
A must haveThis program has been a godsend for my caseload. It comes with so many different activities: reproducible sheets, a game to use with the language tasks, and the dry erase pictured scenes that kids LOVE. They reinforce the concepts so well - and can be combined with following directions and vocabulary development. This is my all time favorite product I have purchased, it's so practical and versatile.
