Figurative Language BookI really like this book. Both my Middle School students and High School students like using it. Non literal language is a tough concept for some to grasp. The book is presented in an orderly fashion that makes sense. I would recommend the book to others.
-
Great little bookPlenty of info and exercises addressing various figurative language skills at a very reasonable price.
-
easy to useEach chapter explains the chapter topic and gives a literature review plus developmental information. Ideas for teaching each chapter as well as worksheets are included. The only real weakness of the book is the chapter on slang because it doesn't use slang that is used by real kids.

Figurate Language Book FantasticThis resource is fantastic with providing a variety of figurative language styles including similes, metaphors, idioms and expressions. It even has jokes to help explain why things that people say aren't always so. It has greatly helped with my students to support their curriculum especially reading. They can better understand what characters mean in a story. It is helpful for conversation as well. I have used it with my language impaired students and those on the autism spectrum. They can simply read along with me or can write in their answers. Figurative language comes into play in so many areas including reading, listening to classroom lessons and everyday conversation and social interactions. It's something that is not often taught by teachers and parents. I like the variety of activities that are in this book and give it a thumbs up!
-
Good BookThis book is a good resource for really simplifying figurative language for students who have difficulty with multiple meanings, idioms, etc. It provides a lot of multiple choice answers. It comes with a CD-ROM.
-
Figurative Language BookThis book is okay. I would have liked to see more reproducibles and for them to be done in a more interesting manner to use with the students.
-
Figurative Language BookThis book will be a good resource for my student that is in a regular 4th grade classroom. He is having difficulties understanding figurative language in the curriculum and also having trouble understanding the language that his peers are using socially.
-
FantasticLast year I went through the entire book with my students. Its fun and it helps to transfer figurative language concepts to textbooks and real life.
-
GreatIt is a great buy for SLP materials.
-
Figurative Language Bookit is a nice edition for the students who experience problems with the ability tp play with the language. It gives nice picture/ examples of "translation" the content into the every day language. However, sometimes these examples are hard to interpret for the students who have issues with logic of language

I would like to see...I would like to see more products in a cheaper price range. I really like many of your products, I just can't afford to buy them all. It would be nice to more products for special education teachers.. You have such wonderful products. I really like the hands on products as well as those that offer a CD for printables.

I just wanted to say...I just wanted to say I am so grateful that Super Duper continues to support SLPs by including CDs in their workbooks. I print so many homework and activity sheets so I don't have to deal with the copier, it saves so much time! Companies like LinguiSystems have lost my business because they are no longer supportive in this way. I also really enjoy the parent handouts! Keep 'em coming! I use them all the time and have told my colleuges about them!

I enjoy your products and...I enjoy your products and love your language games/activities. I would like more interactive products and language stimulating toys for early childhood. I work with many pre-kindergarten students and would benefit from a larger variety of products for children at this age. I love the fluency enhancing tools and the Magne Talk activities.
